Synopsis

DESCRIPTION: Two hundred years after a devastating war against an alien adversary, the royal daughters of Almaladh use their powers to defend whats left of humanity. Now that power is fading and the days come for Zoe, raised her whole life as a human sacrifice, to journey into the desert and meet her fate. But not every sacrifice is of blood, and the destiny that awaits her is one of desire and discovery. EXCERPT: And then, unthinkable as it seemed, the being noticed her. Its drifting body silently wound through the murky gray sky as its heads reached down toward Zoe, directly above the stone pillars. She stared up at their writhing shapes: in the flickering half-light of the sandstorm, framed against the winged serpent’s gargantuan form, their lengths had seemed nearly as thin and delicate as threads, but as they stretched closer she now saw that each one was perhaps as thick as one of the columns surrounding her. Seven separately squirming hydra heads wound their way from the dust clouds for her, each one blind and featureless save for its sleek, smiling mouth – and then their jaws opened wide to let another shape within stretch endlessly downward, a slick crimson ribbon that might have been a sinuous tongue its tapered length hadn’t ended in another greedily sucking mouth. It was madness, but she couldn’t look away. Nothing born in this world could have ever been so terrible and beautiful. She stared as though she were staring beyond the edge of the universe. She loved it the way she loved the rising sun. “Teach me?” she heard herself say, her voice a timid plea. Perhaps it understood what she meant better than she did; the rest of its heads merely hung above her shoulders as though silently watching her while a pair of serpentine mouths nuzzled her bare breasts. Then they drew her dark nipples between their plump lips, into a warm throbbing mouth that engulfed her full globes even while those smaller, inner maws clamped each stiff pebble. Two mouths claimed each of Zoe’s breasts at once: smooth supple lips squeezed around her smooth mounds while those hungry tongues captured and nursed each hard peak with a deeper, silky warmth, each one pulsing with its own cadence.
